San Diego, CA – Major Crash on I-15 at Rancho Pensaquitos Blvd.

San Diego, CA (July 5, 2024) – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the scene of a major injury crash in San Diego on Wednesday, July 3. The accident occurred just after noon in the southbound lanes of the Interstate 15 Freeway near Rancho Pensaquitos Boulevard.

According to a CHP report, the crash involved a Ford Fusion and a pickup truck that was hauling a fifth wheel trailer. Paramedics arrived and transported at least one person to the hospital with serious injuries. Multiple lanes were blocked due to the police and emergency response to the crash. Drivers were told to avoid the area and to find an alternate travel route if possible. There are no further details on the extent of the injuries or the victim’s condition.
