Costa Mesa, CA – Two Hurt in Car Crash on 55 Freeway near 22nd St.

Costa Mesa, CA (May 16, 2024) – Officials in the Costa Mesa area were called to the scene of a car accident on Thursday, May 16th. The collision happened around noon on the 55 Freeway, just north of 22nd Street.

According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles were involved in the accident. Police state a black Volkswagen Jett collided with a silver Acura TLX sedan. The Acura came to rest facing the wrong way after the crash. Two people suffered injuries in the collision. The victims were transported to Kaiser Permanente-Irvine Medical Center for treatment. There is no word on their condition or the extent of their injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
