San Marcos, CA – Multiple Injuries in Crash on South Santa Fe Ave.

San Marcos, CA (April 23, 2024) – Several people were taken to a hospital after a serious accident in San Marcos on Sunday night, April 21st. The crash happened around 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of South Santa Fe Avenue and North Rancho Santa Fe Road.

According to a report from the scene, a blue Honda SUV was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of South Santa Fe Road when the driver collided head-on with a red Honda SUV and a white Toyota sedan. The occupants of the Red Honda, a 24-year-old man, and a 22-year-old woman were taken to Palomar Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The 46-year-old driver of the Toyota was treated at the scene but not hospitalized. The 29-year-old driver of the blue Honda SUV was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. No one involved in the crash has been identified at this time. Motorists were urged to avoid the area and to find alternate routes of travel if possible. The accident remains under investigation at this time. No further details are available.
