San Diego, CA – Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Collision on Home Avenue

San Diego, CA (March 3, 2024) – A San Diego pedestrian was injured in a crash that took place on Friday evening, March 1st. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of Home Avenue in the Fairmont Park neighborhood.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash was initially heard by a citizen who went to check the scene. When the citizen arrived, they discovered a pedestrian lying in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle. The car that hit the victim fled the area immediately following the incident. Police arrived at the scene and spoke with the witness who was unable to give a description of the vehicle involved. The injured pedestrian suffered serious injuries, including a brain bleed and lacerations to his head and hand. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The victim’s identity has not been released. Police say that the pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk when the crash took place.
