San Diego, CA – Man Seriously Hurt in Bicycle Crash on Carmel Rd.

San Diego, CA (February 14, 2024) – Police in San Diego were called to the scene of a serious bicycle crash on Monday, February 12th. The crash happened 1:30 p.m. on Carmel Creek Road in the Carmel Valley area.

According to an initial report, a 63-year-old man was riding his bicycle when he was hit by car traveling in the 12300 block of the roadway. The vehicle was identified as a 2023 Chevrolet Volt and the driver was identified as a 33-year-old female. The collision occurred when the woman attempted to make a right turn and crossed into the bicycle lane, striking the man. Paramedics arrived at the scene and treated the victim for serious injuries, including a brain hemorrhage and a lacerated kidney. He was taken to a local hospital for further treatment and is listed in stable condition. The man’s identity has not been released at this time.
