Chula Vista, CA – One Killed in Three-Vehicle Rollover Crash on I-5 at Palomar St.

Chula Vista, CA (March 25, 2024) – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a deadly rollover crash on Sunday afternoon, March 24th. The collision took place just after 5:00 p.m. on the Interstate 5 Freeway near Palomar Street.

According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, three cars were involved in the crash that took place in the slow lane of the freeway. One of the cars overturned after the collision. When rescue workers arrived they pronounced one person dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time. Police have not said what caused the crash to occur. The road was closed while the accident was investigated and reopened just after 7:00 p.m. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed in connection with the accident. An investigation remains ongoing. No further information has been released.
